Installation guide
Two minutes from BigCommerce App Marketplace to your first campaign. This page covers the install flow, the permissions we request, and what happens during the initial product sync.
How to install
Follow these steps to install the Bulk Price Editor & Promotions Scheduler app on your BigCommerce store:
- Go to the BigCommerce App Marketplace listing.
- Click the Install button.
- Review the requested permissions and click Confirm to grant the application access to your store data.
- You will be redirected to the application dashboard. Your 3-day free trial starts at this moment.
- Wait for the initial catalog sync to complete (a few seconds for small catalogs, a few minutes for large ones).
- Build your first campaign from the Campaigns section.
Permissions required
The application requests the following permissions during install:
- Modify Catalog - required to update product and variant prices during a campaign and to restore them on rollback.
- Read Catalog - required to fetch product, variant, brand, and category data into the campaign builder.
- Read Channels - required to identify your storefronts so each one can be targeted independently.
- Read Store Information - required to read store details like time zone, used by the campaign scheduler.
These permissions are used strictly for the app's core functionality. No data leaves the boundary of the campaign workflow.
Initial setup
After installation, the application performs an initial synchronization of your product data. The duration depends on catalog size:
- Under 1,000 products: typically under a minute.
- 1,000-10,000 products: 1 to 4 minutes.
- 10,000-100,000 products: 5 to 20 minutes.
- 100,000+ products: 20 minutes or more, depending on BigCommerce API throughput.
You can monitor the progress on the dashboard. You can start exploring the interface while the sync runs, but campaign creation waits for the initial sync to complete.
Troubleshooting installation issues
If you encounter any issues during installation:
- Confirm you are logged into your BigCommerce store with an account that has permission to install applications (admin role).
- If the install redirect fails, refresh the BigCommerce admin page and re-launch the app from the Apps tab.
- If the catalog sync stalls, check the campaigns dashboard for a retry button. The app's recovery loop also restarts stalled syncs every few minutes.
